Sedgefield Lakes is a neighborhood in southwest Greensboro, North Carolina. This community is roughly 10 miles from downtown and encompasses the 27282 and 27407 zip code areas. It is bounded by Hilltop Road on the north and Woodlyn Way on the south and east. Interstate 73 runs past the neighborhood to the northeast. The Adams Farm community sits to the southwest.

The Sedgefield Lakes neighborhood encompasses .633 square miles and has more than 415 residents. It consists of several dozen single-family home sites surrounding three lakes that are collectively referred to as the Sedgefield Lakes. This neighborhood is a rather new development for Greensboro. Most of the homes were built in the 1990s and a few date back to the 1980s. The community is quite heavily wooded, and most of the homes are spread out, giving ample privacy. By city standards, this neighborhood is quite affluent. In 2008, the median household income here was $69,878, significantly higher than the Greensboro average of $41,393.

Residents of Sedgefield Lakes frequent the Sedgefield County Club, a few miles to the southeast. This private club dates back to 1926 and has hosted the likes of golf greats Arnold Palmer and Sam Snead. After undergoing a recent three-million-dollar restoration, this golf club could be considered one of the nation’s finest, and offers a variety of amenities, including a Tudor-style, 48,000-square-foot clubhouse, tennis courts, fitness facilities and a 25-meter swimming pool.

For local shopping, Sedgefield Lakes head a few miles north to Wendover Place or Wendover Village, which offer a variety of shopping and dining options. Another shopping center, Adam’s Farm, is situated a few miles to the south and offers a supermarket and Walgreen’s drugstore.
