The modest neighborhood of Holden Village is bordered by Darden Road and extends south past Interstate 73. Holden Village is comprised mainly of single-family homes. The traditional style homes are mostly two-story with pitched roofs and surrounded by grass, mature trees, and shrubbery.
The Ebenezer Baptist Church is located on 2700 W Vandalia. The building is made of red brick and beautiful stain glass windows adorn the walls. The Church’s motto is “Building the Ark One Soul at a Time.”
Trotter Recreation Center is a great place to go for social activities and meetings. There is a game room, a kitchen, two meeting rooms and a gymnasium. The center also has an after-school program for 5-12 year-olds. The Basketball League is open for registration October 1 through December. Games begin in January.
The 5.5-acre Amber Park is a wonderful sanctuary. The wooded park is a good place to walk dogs, jog or a hike. A small stream runs through the park.
