Outer Northwest I-40 Corridor Neighborhood

Greensboro, North Carolina’s Outer Northwest I-40 Corridor is a collection of neighborhoods that follow I-40 on Greensboro’s west side. This area includes Wet ‘n’ Wild Emerald Pointe Water Park, Four Seasons Town Centre Mall, and Guilford Technical Community College. The region is convenient to Downtown Greensboro, Piedmont Triad International Airport, and Sedgefield Golf and Country Club.

NewBridge Bank Park, opened in 2005, is a state-of-the-art stadium with 7,499 seats and room for future expansion. Outdoor events, sports, and concerts are held here. It is home to the Greensboro Grasshoppers, a baseball club and a Class A team with the South Atlantic League. Since 2003, the Greensboro Grasshoppers have been a farm team with the Florida Marlins.

The family-friendly Natural Science Center of Greensboro has many exhibits and hands-on science programs for children. It is a science museum with a planetarium, theater, and small petting zoo. A 36-foot-long Tyrannosaurus Rex is on permanent display.

Hagan Stone Park is a nearby wildlife refuge on 409 acres. It has four fishing lakes, picnic shelters, playgrounds, and campgrounds. Walkers, hikers, and runners enjoy its trails. The park hosts cross country events for high school and college runners.

Trotter Recreation Center is a great place to go for social activities and meetings. There is a game room, a kitchen, two meeting rooms and a gymnasium. The center also has an after-school program for 5-12 year-olds.

The 5.5-acre Amber Park is a wonderful sanctuary. The wooded park is a good place to walk your dog, go jogging, or go on a hike. A small stream runs through the park.
