The Historic Poe House was designed in the East Lake style and is a house museum, which was restored to show life in the late 19th and early 20th century. Built in 1897, the house belonged to Edgar Allen Poe, a local brickyard owner who is not related to the famous writer.
The Cool Springs Tavern is the oldest structure in Downtown Fayetteville and is designed in the Federal style. In 1789, the tavern housed delegates who were in Fayetteville to ratify the United States Constitution.
