This is a small suburban neighborhood that is convenient for residents who want to live near but not within a big city. Since the community is close to the downtown area, there are many things for Westover Hills residents to do.

Shopping within the neighborhood is lacking as far as the presence of shopping malls. However, residents still have access to shopping centers in the area. One of the better regional shopping areas is the Wilkinson Boulevard Shopping Center. Among the retailers it hosts are Gamestop, Sally’s Beauty Supply, and Radioshack. This shopping center also has a Walmart, which provides neighborhood residents with a place to buy groceries, household items, and other products.

Most residents of Westover Hills in search of a shopping mall visit the downtown area of Charlotte. Two great shopping magnets in the downtown area are EpiCentre and Founders Hall. Both of these malls combine fine and casual dining with many different stores and a pleasant shopping experience.

Two golf courses serve the Westover Hills community. The Carolina Golf Course offers players access to a dining facility as well as a popular golf course. The Revolution Park Golf Course has a course with a pro shop. There is also a snack bar on the property. One difference between the two golf courses is the cost of golfing at each. The Revolutionary Park Golf Course is a public golf course, while the Carolina Golf Course is private and costs more.
