Stonehaven was developed in the 1970s by Thomasson Builders, one of Charlotte’s early celebrity developers. The popular McAlpine Creek Greenway has nine miles of trails and nature walks, which are filled with runners, cyclists and walkers when the weather is nice.

Lauded for its great location, Stonehaven residents who work in uptown Charlotte have an easy commute either by personal vehicle or by city express-bus service from the park-and-ride lot near the neighborhood entrance. There are plenty of places to shop nearby, including Cotswold Shopping Center, Phillips Place and Southpark Mall.
