Private, wooded lots give many homes in McAlpine the feeling of secluded lodges, surrounded by tall trees and established landscaping. This large neighborhood, with more than 5,000 residents, was developed in the late 1970s and early 1980s with ranch and two-story style houses.

Options for housing in McAlpine range from large single-family homes with swimming pools to condominiums and apartments. The neighborhood encompasses ZIP code 28226 and is bordered by Pineville-Matthews Road on the north and Johnston Road on the east. Interstate 485 cuts through the southern tip of the neighborhood.

Residents of McAlpine enjoy a quick commute to some of Charlotte’s busiest business centers, including SouthPark and Ballantyne, thanks to its proximity to major roads such as Pineville Matthews Road, I-485, U.S. 521 and Johnston Road.
