One of the largest villages in western New York, Depew is unique because it is divided in half by Transit Road. The eastern side belongs to the town of Lancaster, the west side to the town of Cheektowaga. Situated in Erie County 10 miles east of Buffalo, Depew enjoys a long history and several historic places to visit.
First settled in 1808, the village is named after Chauncey Depew, the man who brought the railroad to Depew in 1893, and it was incorporated a year later.
There’s plenty to do in Depew, from ice skating at Fireman’s Park to several playgrounds in the village. Commuting is easy with its convenient location to highways and the Buffalo-Depew Amtrak station.
With its proximity to Buffalo, Depew offers new residents vast opportunities for work and play. With so much to do, the village of Depew is a popular spot for apartment renting.
