The Quakers first settled Mount Holly, New Jersey in 1677. Since then, it has played a vital role in United States history, including during the Revolutionary War, when a battle took place at Iron Hill as a distraction, allowing the Continental Army to win the Battle of Trenton the next day.
Downtown Mount Holly has several buildings on the National Register of Historic Places. Mill Race Village contains buildings dating back to the late 17th century. Home to many artists, this unique area has one-of-a-kind shops and restaurants. In addition, several local events are held here, including the Witches Ball, Candlelight Shopping, and the Fire and Ice Festival in January (a chili contest combined with an ice carving festival).
This quaint township located 21 miles east of Philadelphia is a fast-growing area with a vibrant job market, good schools, and a great sense of community. Mount Holly apartment rentals offer access to all this area has to offer.
