Vineyard Apartments for Rent

On the east side of Kansas City, in midtown, is the community of Vineyard. On the north, its border is East 39th Street. On the east and south sides the border is Emanual Cleaver II Boulevard, and the point furthest to the west borders Cleveland Avenue. It is located in the 64130 zip code.

Except for the homes that have been recently built, Vineyard is a community made up of older, modest homes. The lot sizes vary with some houses being smaller and very close together, while others are larger and have a nice size yard and plenty of privacy.

The Vineyard Neighborhood Association is very active in helping the residents in every way possible. They have helped repair roofs, and have helped renovate the neighborhood. Currently, they are operating a food pantry to assist those who live there.

Senator Kit Bond recently took an interest in the redevelopment of the Vineyard neighborhood. Four new houses have been built, with more planned, and other properties have been fixed up. Some of the older, abandoned properties have been purchased and cleaned up.

Swope Park is one of the largest city parks in the entire country. It includes two golf courses; the Starlight Theatre, (an outdoor theater with 8,000 seats); the Lakeside Nature Center; and the Kansas City Zoo. It sits along Brush Creek to the south of the neighborhood, and it has soccer and baseball fields, a Frisbee golf course, and a swimming pool. Fishing, playgrounds, picnic areas, and hiking trails are also available.

Just outside of Vineyard on the northeast side is the Community Fellowship Church where residents can worship. A few blocks away on Cleveland Avenue and East 46th Street is Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church.
