River View Apartments for Rent

The River View neighborhood of Kansas City, Missouri, is situated between I-29/US 71 to the east and North Oak Trafficway to the west. It is a settled neighborhood of mostly small, older homes with wide, heavily shaded streets and sidewalks. The homes are well maintained with neatly kept small yards. River View is northeast of the Missouri River, yet only minutes to downtown Kansas City.

At the south end of River View is Macken Park, a 60-acre park with summer concerts, shelters, ball fields, tennis courts, and walking and roller blading trails. A public library and North Kansas City Hospital are also close by.

Five golf courses can found in the area, most notably the Pleasant Valley and Liberty courses.

Smithville Lake and Recreation area is a short drive to the north. This huge recreational area offers fishing, boating, a 3,000-acre waterfowl refuge, two public golf courses, and even areas for public hunting.

Hodge Park is not far away. This 800-acre park is Kansas City’s largest and includes historic buildings, a golf course, ball diamonds, lakes, a wildlife enclosure, picnic areas and shelters.

Several disc golf courses are close to the River View neighborhood, with the closest being Water Works Park.

Major attractions nearby include Worlds of Fun, the North Town Shops, Riverboat Gaming, River Market and Steamboat Arabia, and of course all the attractions of Kansas City south of the river.

Jesse James is one of the area’s most famous former residents. In nearby Kearney, the James Farm and Museum and the Jesse James Bank are top historical sites. The Historic Pharis Farm is nearby as well.

Several colleges are within a short drive of the River View neighborhood, including Sanford Brown in North Kansas City. A bit further north are the University of Missouri Extension and Maple Woods Community College. William Jewell is only slightly further.
