The Toy and Miniature Museum of Kansas City is at 5235 Oak St. and has one the most extensive collections of toys and intricate miniatures in the world. Within walking distance is Homes Park, with a baseball field and roller hockey rink, picnic area, and a playground. The place to spend a whole day with the family in Kansas City is Swope Park, at Swope Parkway. Swope Park is almost 1,800 acres, much of it undeveloped, with just about everything you could imagine. The Kansas City Zoo, Lakeside Nature Center, Starlight Outdoor Theatre, Kansas City Wizards training facility, a camp, community gardens, the Swope Pool, many soccer, baseball, and multipurpose sports fields, and that isn’t even the whole list.
Sports fans in Oak Meyer Garden have their choice of pro sports. The Kansas City Chiefs play at Arrowhead Stadium at One Arrowhead Way, and across the parking lot from there is Kauffman Stadium at One Royal Way, where the Kansas City Royals play their home games.
