It is a short drive down I-435 to the west to the Kansas Speedway and the retail area surrounding it, known as Legends Shopping Mall. There is also a Schlitterbahn waterpark here.

The nearby towns of Parkville and Weston are popular historic towns with great shopping and festivals. The annual Irish Fest in Weston is especially popular.
