About 7 miles from Ivanhoe Southwest is Kansas City’s largest park, Swope Park. It is the second largest urban park in the United States with more than 1,700-acres. This historic park is home to Kansas City Zoo as well as the Southeast Community Center Starlight Theatre, the Kansas City Community Gardens plus public swimming, tennis, soccer and golf. There are also cricket and baseball fields and miles of bike trails.

It is quick and easy to use the Kansas City Transportation Authority (KCATA.) The KCATA is convenient to Ivanhoe Southwest with nearby routes traveling to downtown and local hospitals, including St. Luke’s just two miles away. The University of Missouri at Kansas City is also close, about a mile south of the Ivanhoe neighborhood down Troost Avenue.
