Gashland is bounded by North Oak Trafficway on the west, Indiana Avenue on the east, Northeast 96th Street and Northeast 100th Street on the north, and Northeast Barry Road on the south. Several attractions can be found just outside of community bounds. Bordering the community on the southeast is Maple Woods Community College, easily within walking distance for aspiring college students living in Gashland. Just outside of neighborhood, on the northeast, is the Stanley Farms Golf Club. For those who have a private golf membership in the budget, Stanley Farms offers a pristine 18-hole course, tennis courts, zero entry pool, basketball courts, and fitness facilities. Its elegant clubhouse is also a popular venue for events like weddings and anniversary parties. Tiffany Greens Golf Club, another private golfing option, is situated just a few minutes west of this community.

Baseball lovers living in Gashland may frequent Platte Purchase Park, located less than one mile to the northwest. Home of the Clay-Platte Baseball League, this park features more than one dozen playing fields. Baseball fans might also venture to Kauffman Stadium, home of the Kansas City Royals MLB team and within 30 minutes south of Gashland.
