Bonne Hills Apartments for Rent
Bonne Hills is a neighborhood of small bungalows and cottages, as well as larger ranch and split-level homes. Some of the smallest have undergone recent renovations, making them quite charming. Many homes are extremely well tended and inviting. The Bonne Hills area is bound by East 89th Street, Troost, West Bannister Road, and Wornall Road.
There are a number of small restaurants along the boundary roads. A very convenient shopping area is about a mile west, along Ward Parkway and West 85th Street. In addition to small specialty stores and restaurants, major retailers such as Dillards and Target are convenient for Bonne Hills residents. Hy-Vee, a great regional grocery store, can be found nearby, along with bowling alleys and movie theaters.
Bonne Hills is a great neighborhood for those who love the outdoors and water sports. The Blue River runs just east of of the community. Several large lakes provide opportunities for fishing, boating, golf, and camping. Two great ones are Longview Lake, nine miles east, and Lake Jacomo, 15 miles east. Lake Jacomo also has the Kemper Outdoor Education Center, which offers a day camp. Eight great trails, boat rentals and concessions, and windsurfing and sailing make it a popular place.
Nearby James A. Reed Memorial Wildlife Area, at 2,600 acres, has 12 fishing lakes, hunting, field and dog training facilities, and hiking trails. It is only 15 miles from Bonne Hills.
There are many educational facilities in the area, many accessible by public transportation. The largest is the University of Missouri-Kansas City, with 14,000 students. Within walking distance of Bonne Hills is Avila College, a small private college.
There’s no shortage of nightlife, either. From local pubs to the well-known areas such as Westport and the Power and Light District, live entertainment is only blocks away.
