New Hope Apartments for Rent
New Hope started out as a farming community and it still retains that rural charm and friendly atmosphere. Located just northwest of Minneapolis, New Hope is considered a suburb of the large Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area.
Rent a New Hope apartment and you’ll enjoy a great Minnesota town filled with shops, restaurants, and several parks – 20 parks totaling 200 acres. Northwood Park is the city’s largest park and offers basketball courts, a nature area, paths, picnic areas and grills, and a playground. Other parks include Meadow Lake Park, Lions Park, and Sunnyside Park. Hidden Valley Park includes an asphalt hockey rink and a sledding hill.
New Hope is home to several festivals and events, including “Duk Duk Daze” during summer and a seasonal farmer’s market. The Hope Grows Community Gardens features individual plots available to residents who wish to grow fresh fruits and vegetables.
In the early 1900s, New Hope was part of the Crystal Lake Township and consisted mainly of family farms. When Crystal Lake decided to incorporate in 1936, the rural residents in the western section of the town decided to form their own township, and New Hope was formed. New Hope became a city on its own in 1953, mainly to prevent land from being annexed. The community has grown rapidly since then, mainly due to its picturesque landscape and its proximity to downtown Minneapolis.
