West Savannah Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
The West Savannah neighborhood of Savanna, Georgia, is coming alive under the urban revitalization project. With new homes and community improvements over the last few years, the community has attracted residents as both home buyers and renters.
The community, as its name implies, lies just west of the heart of Savannah’s commercial center and historic district. The boundaries of this neighborhood are West Bay Street on the north, Louisville Road on the south, I-516 on the west, and the railroad tracks just west of US Highway 17.
The close proximity to I-516, US Highway 17, and I-16 make commutes around the greater Savannah area quite easy. West Savannah also has a reliable mass transit system for its residents.
Notable community buildings include Moses Jackson Community Center, Bartow Elementary School, and a variety of community churches such as St. James Baptist Church and Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church.
Bartow Park is located within the West Savannah neighborhood, providing open green space for residents to picnic or fly a kite. Nearby Jasper Spring Park, named for Sergeant William Jasper—an American hero of the Revolutionary War—is situated just west of West Savannah. Here visitors can view the park’s monument or picnic by the spring.
Golf enthusiasts in the area enjoy the Mary Calder Golf Course, situated just minutes to the northwest of West Savannah. This nine-hole public course is great for a quick round of golf after work.
