The kid-friendly Chatham Parkway neighborhood is less than five miles from the Georgia and South Carolina border. A college, high school, and elementary school are all within a short drive of the neighborhood. Golfers can enjoy the green fairways and smooth putting greens of two local golf courses, which add to the natural beauty of an area speckled with several parks.
Less than 10 minutes from Chatham Parkway is the Savannah College of Art and Design. The college boasts more degree programs and specializations than any other university in the world, and enrolls approximately 9,500 students. Beach High School, home to the Bulldogs, enrolls more than 1,000 high school students and is located less than three miles east of the neighborhood. Hodge Elementary School educates approximately 400 students in kindergarten through fifth grade and is located next to the high school.
Chatham Parkway golfers can get to The Club at Savannah Harbor in approximately 10 minutes. This course has received honors from GolfWeek magazine, Golf Digest, and Conde Nast Traveler. For some of the best golf in the city, Chatham Parkway residents only need to drive 10 miles to reach Crosswinds Golf Club. Crosswinds has an 18-hole championship-quality golf course, a nine-hole par-three course, and was awarded “Best of Savannah” in 2008 by Savannah Magazine.
Natural beauty is available beyond the golf course, as Chatham Parkway residents have nearly a dozen small parks to visit within a few miles of the neighborhood. Visitors will have no problem finding shade at the wooded Thompson Recreation Center, which is less than one mile from Chatham Parkway. Cann Park and Myers Park are also within one mile of the neighborhood.
