Colonial Oaks is bordered by Windsor Road to the north, Largo Drive to the west, Felt Drive to the south, and an expanse of undeveloped land to the east.

Savannah State University—the oldest historically black public university in Georgia—is located less than five miles to the north of Colonial Oaks, and Savannah Technical College—a two-year technical institution that offers more than 70 certificate, diploma, and associate degree programs to an enrollment of nearly 6,000—is within nine miles of the neighborhood.

Residents of Colonial Oaks will also benefit from the community’s proximity to several shopping centers, including Windsor Forest Shopping Center, Varsity Park Shopping Center, and Piccadilly Square Shopping Center, all of which are located within minutes of the subdivision. Savannah Mall, which boasts over 115 specialty stores, three department stores, and several restaurants, is less than four miles to the northwest of the neighborhood.
