Composed of single-family homes along a series of streets to the east and west of Coffee Bluff Road, the Colonial Oaks neighborhood is situated on the south side of Savannah, Georgia. The subdivision contains a mixture of single-story residences and two-story dwellings that are suitable for large families with children. Colonial Oaks is bordered by Windsor Road to the north, Largo Drive to the west, Felt Drive to the south, and an expanse of undeveloped land to the east.
The vast majority of homes throughout the Colonial Oaks neighborhood were built in the 1980s, although some development began in the 1970s and continued into the early 1990s. The subdivision is characterized by a backdrop of tall trees that offer residents plenty of privacy, as well as a sense of safety and security in a community located within minutes of major amenities.
Residents of Colonial Oaks will enjoy easy access to downtown Savannah, which is a 13-mile trip to the north. Savannah State University—the oldest historically black public university in Georgia—is located less than five miles to the north of Colonial Oaks, and Savannah Technical College—a two-year technical institution that offers more than 70 certificate, diploma, and associate degree programs to an enrollment of nearly 6,000—is within nine miles of the neighborhood.
Residents of Colonial Oaks will also benefit from the community’s proximity to several shopping centers, including Windsor Forest Shopping Center, Varsity Park Shopping Center, and Piccadilly Square Shopping Center, all of which are located within minutes of the subdivision. Savannah Mall, which boasts over 115 specialty stores, three department stores, and several restaurants, is less than four miles to the northwest of the neighborhood.
