Largo Drive serves as the eastern border, and it’s bordered to the west by water.

Hoover Creek and Hover Creek are located within the neighborhood’s borders. The Heritage Park of Savannah is within walking distance to the east. Woody’s Skate Park offers visitors the chance to bike, skate, or blade. The nearby Fort McAllister Historic Park lies along the banks of the Ogeechee River, and it features historical remains and earthworks from the Confederacy. It also offers a Civil War museum, boating opportunities, a playground for children, picnic facilities, and a nature trail.

Armstrong Atlantic State University borders the neighborhood directly to the north, and its large campus provides a rich, diverse student life and many undergraduate study paths. The proximity of the school to the community makes it especially popular among students, as is the case for the other nearby schools. The Savannah Technical College and the Savannah College of Art and Design are just a short commute from Berkshire Woods, and they are more specialized institutions.

While Berkshire Woods is primarily residential, it’s just south of some of the most popular shopping centers and businesses within the city of Savannah. The Savannah Mall, a major shopping arena with popular chain department stores and a food court, is within walking distance to the north. The Oglethorpe Mall and the Varsity Park Shopping Center also serve the shopping needs of the community.
