West Highlands Apartments for Rent

The West Highlands community is a planned development in Northwest Atlanta. Previously, the site was the home of the Perry Homes Government Housing Project. The 460-acre community offers residences for both single families and apartment-style buildings that can house numerous families.

Residents will have access to educational, recreational, and employment facilities within the community. At the center of the development will be a 3.5-acre park surrounded by residential and office buildings. The neighborhood is also scheduled to have a school, public library, and community center. West Highland’s residents will have access to an 18-hole golf course designed by a world-famous golfer. The course will wind its way through the community and will include a club house and driving range.

The main branch of the Atlanta-Fulton Public Library and three colleges–Morehouse College, Spellman College, and Atlanta Baptist College–are located within a reasonable distance of the West Highlands community. The neighborhood is only minutes from the renowned Fox Theater and the Margaret Mitchell Museum, the Wren’s Nest, and Herndon Home Museums. Residents will find it convenient to access tours of the Georgia Capitol and Museum.

Several small neighborhood parks surround the West Highlands neighborhoods and are easily accessible via the local public transit system. The area is not far from Piedmont Park, which offers a number of walking trails, open green spaces, and two dog parks to respectively accommodate small and large canines. A number of the local businesses surrounding the park are both pedestrian- and canine-friendly, provided the animals are leashed and controlled at all times.

Of special interest to families will be Grand Park and the Atlanta Zoo as well as Turner Field, home of the Atlanta Braves baseball team. These attractions and the Center for Puppetry Arts are all located within a few miles of the West Highlands neighborhood.
