The Rosedale Heights neighborhood is situated around Cleveland Avenue SE and Browns Mill Road. It is a modest neighborhood bordering Browns Mill Golf Course. Rosedale Heights is only 10 minutes from downtown Atlanta and all of its shopping, attractions and other amenities. The neighborhood is also convenient to Harsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
Browns Mill Golf Course is a popular golf facility. It was designed by George Cobb who also designed the Augusta National Golf Course used in the prestigious Masters Tournament. Browns Mill Golf Course features 3 small lakes, a driving range and a pro shop.
Local landmarks include the Cleveland Avenue/Yancey Branch Library and the Cleveland Avenue Park. The park features tennis courts and a playground.
There are three sports and recreation centers nearby. The Browns Mill Park and Aquatic Center boasts 3-story water slides, kiddie water slides and water fountains. The signature piece of the park is a structure with brightly colored buckets which dump water on passing bathers. The park also boasts a 54 acre park with baseball fields, basketball courts, tennis courts and picnic facilities.
The Rosel Fann Recreation area features a gym, arts and crafts room, weight room, racquetball courts, a football field, dance studio, playground, natatorium and kitchen. The Southside Sports Complex features a playground and baseball fields.
Two nature preserves are in the Rosedale Heights area. The Swann Preserve features 57 acres of woodlands. It is part of the Greenway Project and clean up and preservation efforts are underway. The Lake Charlotte Nature Preserve has a boardwalk around the swamp. It is a popular fishing area and wildlife viewing area.
Neighborhood schools include Humphries Elementary School, South Atlanta High School and Kipp Achieve Academy.
