Midwest Cascade Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
The Midwest Cascade area includes a number of well-established neighborhoods, specifically Adams Park, Morningside, and the Highlands. The community has long been home to a thriving African-American population, and a number of Atlanta’s more prominent people have called this area home, including former mayor Andrew Young and baseball great Hank Aaron.
A number of parks dot the area, providing residents with a fair amount of open green space. Both Grant Park, the oldest of Atlanta’s parks, and Piedmont, the largest park in the city, are located within a few miles of the neighborhoods, offering walking and nature trails, areas for outdoor dining, playgrounds, and public space. In addition, Grant Park offers residents the opportunity to visit the Atlanta Cyclorama, a visual depiction of the Civil War battle for Atlanta, as well as the city’s zoo. The Midwest Cascade area also features a public golf course.
Homes in the area are for the most part, older, yet attractive homes that date back to the 1940s and ’50s. Prices for homes in the community range from the $400,000s for some in the more recently developed areas, to more than $1 million in the area‘s historic and most desirable locations. The area is reasonably well served by mass transit, and there are a number of bus stops in the region. However, equal numbers of people in this area have their own transportation. Midwest Cascade is adjacent to another famous, affluent, and prominently African-American community: Historic Collier Heights.
Shoppers living in Midwest Cascade will enjoy knowing they are only a few miles away from Greenbriar Mall, and several smaller shopping areas, including Campbellton Plaza, Perimeter West Shopping Center, and the Cascade Crossing Shopping Center. Meanwhile, sports lovers will appreciate the fact that both the Georgia Dome and Phillips Arena can be reached easily from the neighborhoods.
