These days, the area is home to Bobby Jones Golf Course, one of the state’s premier places for golf. It’s named after Atlanta legend Bobby Jones, who won golf’s equivalent of the Grand Slam back in the 1930s. Built in 1931, the golf course and clubhouse are still highly in demand with Atlanta’s sporty set, and add a dash of quiet elegance and history to the modern urban style of the Buckhead area.

For those to whom tennis is a more appealing game, Atlanta Memorial Park is also home to the Bitsy Grant Tennis Center, named after the diminutive 5’4″ world champion who remained highly involved with the club and the Atlanta tennis scene until his passing in 1986.
