Hanover West is a fair-sized, primarily residential community in Fulton County. It’s a part of western Atlanta, with all the perks that this large southern city has to offer.

Cultural attractions abound near Hanover West. The Atlanta History Center is only three miles northeast of the neighborhood. The Margaret Mitchell House and Museum, dedicated to the author of Gone With the Wind, is only four miles southeast of the center of Hanover West.

There are no parks within the neighborhood itself. However, Beaverbrook Park, Tennyson Circle, and Coronet Way Park are less than a mile from the center of Hanover West. Just a mile to the east of the neighborhood is Atlanta Memorial Park, with abundant greenery, open space, a medium-sized playground for children, and a jogging trail.

Despite the fact that the nearest dog park, Piedmont Park, is four miles southeast of Hanover West, it is still a dog-friendly area. Residents walk their dogs along the many sidewalks of the community, and the private lawns and yards tend to suffice for the needs of the neighborhood dogs. Doguroo Midtown West is only two miles southeast of Hanover West; it is a dog day care center that allows dogs to thrive, play, and exercise in a supervised environment.

Hanover West is also a family-friendly neighborhood. The neighborhood and its surrounding areas are served by some of the best schools in Atlanta. Within two miles of Hanover West are particularly excellent schools. Bolton Academy, a diverse and progressive school, is only a mile west of the neighborhood.

Other nearby schools include Morris Brandon Elementary School, Atlanta Girls School, Margaret Mitchell School, The Westminster Schools, North Atlanta High School, Pace Academy, and St. Anne’s Episcopal School. Specialized studios for after-school interests include Bangkok Boxing Fitness, Gotta Dance Atlanta, Buckhead Gymnastics Center, Trammell Fitness & Martial Arts, and Pera Dance Studio.
