Dixie Hills is a very family-friendly neighborhood. Anderson Park Elementary School is named after the neighborhood’s park and is every bit as much a thing of pride for the community as the park itself. Stanton Elementary School, Douglass High School, and Grove Park Elementary School. Many of the community’s children also go to the Harland Boys & Girls Club, located just two miles southeast of the Dixie Hills community.

While there are some small shops in the neighborhood, several major shopping centers are within a 10-minute drive. The Hightower Station Shopping Center is only a mile west of the community. The Mall West End is just over two miles from Dixie Hills. The Mall at Peachtree Center is less than four miles east of the neighborhood.
