Audobon Forest Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
The Audubon Forest community can be found within Intown Cascade, a neighborhood known for its lovely homes that date back to the early 20th century. House styles in this area include bungalows, ranch-style, and palatial estates. Residents live mere minutes from Downtown Atlanta, and have easy access to both the city’s major highways and its airport, Hartsfield-Jackson, the busiest passenger airport in the country.
Residents live only a few miles away from some of the city’s major historic homes. One such home is the Wren’s Nest, where Southern author Joel Chandler Harris created such memorable characters as Bre’r Rabbit and Uncle Remus. Other notable buildings include the Margaret Mitchell House and Museum, and the Herndon Home Museum. The Fox Theater and State Capitol are also within reach a few miles down the road.
When people in the Audubon neighborhood want to get out of their homes and enjoy some outdoor leisure, they have more than 100 acres of nature preserves at their doorstep. The Cascade Springs Nature preserve offers walking trails, a waterfall and nursery, and even a quarry.
For residents with an historical streak, nearby Lionel Hampton/Beecher Hill Nature Preserve offers 180 acres of land, including some of the most archeologically important Civil War trenches in the area. A number of trails, open gathering spaces, and playgrounds are also located within the preserve, including an area specially designed for active senior citizens. The preserve also provides a variety of educational activities to many local schoolchildren.
For those who prefer indoor activities, the community is located within easy driving distance of both the Campbelton Plaza and Greenbriar Shopping Centers. Both are also easily accessible by local transit.
