Greater Carrollwood Neighborhood in Tampa, FL

Greater Carrollwood Neighborhood

Carrollwood is a large neighborhood in Hillsborough County, just outside of Tampa. Lake Magdalene is to the north of the neighborhood, while Egypt Lake is on the south side. Carrollwood Village is to the west, and the city of Tampa is on the east side. Carrollwood contains several smaller neighborhoods, such as Carrollwood Cove, Carollwood Village, and Carollwood Lake.

Carrollwood Cove is a small neighborhood in Carrollwood. It is close to the Carrollwood Cultural center, offers a variety of activities and classes for residents. Classes include computer, personal finance, jewelry making, pottery, writing, drama, and many others. The community center is also home to the community band, which allows anyone from the community to bring an instrument and participate.

Another popular area destination is Side Splitters Comedy Club. Side Splitters is located at the corner of Dale Mabry Highway and South Village Drive in the Cascades Shopping Center. This full-service club has a full menu with drinks, and is well known throughout the Tampa region for attracting some of the best comedic talent in the country.

Nearby downtown Tampa offers museums, arts and entertainment, nightlife, and special events. The Tampa Bay History Center and Florida Museum of Photographic Arts are just two of the many museums found in the heart of downtown, close to Carrollwood. Families can have a fun-filled day at one of the many public parks or enjoy an educational experience at either the Florida Aquarium or Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo. There are many enjoyable activities in and around the Carrollwood neighborhood, which make it an ideal location for people wanting that suburbia feel, but still desiring close proximity to all the excitement the city has to offer.
