Midtown Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
Midtown in Tallahassee, Florida is a neighborhood comprised mainly of single-family, frame homes that were built around 40 years ago. Homes are located on lots that are shaded with beaches, elms, bald cypress, and black walnut trees. The trees are inviting habitats for squirrels and chipmunks, as well as a number of bird species, including vireos, starlings, bluebirds, summer tanagers, and cardinals. Hummingbirds, too, are attracted to area flowers, such as lilies and carnations, both which tint the landscape with their pink and purple blooms.
The community is situated west and south of Thomasville Road; southwest of Betton Road; west of County Road 151; and just north of East 7th Avenue. It is due west of the Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare Center at 1300 Miccosukee Road.
Residents in the area like to visit the Cottages of Lake Ella – stone buildings that were constructed in the early part of the 20th century that are now home to a variety of retail establishments. Quarter Moon Imports, located at 1641 North Monroe Street, is one of these shops, as well as Joe’s Bike Shop, at 1637 North Monroe Street. While Quarter Moon Imports sells a varied selection of clothes and accessories, Joe’s Bike Shop, as the name suggests, supplies bicycles and related equipment to customers.
Residents like to shop at the Tallahassee Mall northwest of the community, as well. The mall, which is located at 2415 North Monroe Street, features such major retailers as Ross Dress for Less and the Burlington Coat Factory. It is open from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday and on Sunday from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Midtown in Tallahassee is conveniently located to downtown as well as an array of Tallahassee shops and eateries – just two of the many reasons people like to settle in the area.
