Inglewood is a large neighborhood located in the 32301 zip code area of Tallahassee, Florida. The neighborhood contains a mixture of single-family residences, attached housing units, and small businesses. Inglewood is situated west of Governor’s Park, north of Governor’s Square, and less than a 15-minute drive to Downtown Tallahassee to the west.
Inglewood residents are comfortably in the heart of many recreational activities. Governor’s Park, Lafayette Park, and Myers Park are all within a one-mile radius of Inglewood. Tom Brown Park is approximately two miles east. A few minutes’ drive from Tom Brown Park are Piney Z Lake and Lake Lafayette. The 4th of July Fireworks Show is held annually at Tom Brown Park. Lafayette Park offers an Arts and Crafts Center where adults and children can enjoy a variety of activities.
There are many shopping, dining, and entertainment venues surrounding Inglewood. Less than a half-mile to the south of Inglewood is Governor’s Square, which is adjacent to Gulf Wind Shopping Center. This entire area surrounding Governor’s Square Boulevard offers a variety of stores and restaurants. Macy’s Governor’s Square Mall is a popular shopping destination for Inglewood residents.
West of Inglewood, Downtown Tallahassee hosts various museums, art galleries, specialty shops, pubs, and cafes. Florida State University is west of Downtown and Florida A and M University is to the south. East of Florida A and M and about 1.5 miles from Inglewood is Capital City Country Club, where golfers can spend an afternoon on the greens. Inglewood is also only about two miles west of J.R. Alford Greenway – another popular golf course near Inglewood.
Public schools near the Inglewood neighborhood include Kate Sullivan Elementary, Cobb Middle, and Leon High School. There are several public libraries within a few miles of Inglewood, including Leon County Public Library, Leroy Collins Library, and Parkway Branch Library.
