Elberta Empire is a residential neighborhood situated just south of Florida State University and a few miles northeast of Tallahassee Regional Airport in the 32304 zip code area of Leon County. The heart of this community is situated along Elberta Drive.

The area is encompassed by Jackson Bluff Road to the north, North Lake Bradford Road to the east, and West Orange Avenue to the south. To the west are South Mabry Manor Park and the Mabry Manor neighborhood.

The neighborhood abounds with collegiate life. Along with Florida State University, Florida A&M University is less than a mile east. The area surrounding both of these institutions has a large concentration of businesses aimed at serving the students and faculty. Small cafes, bars, and dining facilities are all within a mile of the community.

To the northwest are larger shopping centers and chain stores. Westwood Shopping Center, Towne South Shopping Center, and Varsity Shopping Center are a few minutes’ drive away.

There are various public parks that serve the recreational needs of residents. To the northwest is Palmer Monroe Park and to the west is South Mabry Manor Park. Governor’s Park is approximately three miles east, just to the east of downtown Tallahassee.

Residents don’t have far to drive to get downtown, which is east of Florida State University, about a mile northeast of Elberta Empire. Downtown has an eclectic flair with various dining, shopping, and entertainment venues. The city hosts events here throughout the year. During March through November, the local farmer’s market offers fresh produce and flowers.
