Lake Hall offers both swimming and boating but no motors are allowed. It is also a popular place to fish. Another attraction at the park is the ornamental garden. Residents enjoying using the park for picnics and while adults appreciate the views, children will enjoy the playground.

The private Maclay School is walking distance across the street from the entrance to the neighborhood. This offers residents an alternative to public education.

Tallahassee Mall is just a short drive away from Bobbin Brook. It is anchored by Belk and Burlington Coat Factory. The AMC movie theaters are another big attraction of the mall. Among the stores of note are Zale’s Jewelry Store, Spencer Gifts, Sam Goody, Foot Locker, and Barnes and Noble Book Store. Eating is not a challenge at the mall with choices such as Broadway Fries, Coldstone Creamery, and Sbarro Italian Eatery.
