Eastgate Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
The Eastgate neighborhood in Pensacola is an established community of mainly single-family brick homes that were built around 50 years ago. The restful neighborhood provides residents with shady streets that are cooled on warm summer days by the canopies of oaks, beeches, hickories, poplars, and spruce trees. The greenery is a backdrop for the neatly maintained homesteads, all of which rest on fairly large-sized lots and are in proximity to area schools, stores, and restaurants.
The neighborhood, which is located east of North Ninth Avenue, south of Creighton Road, west of Spanish Trail, and north of Langley Avenue, is close to I-10 as well as the Cordova Mall on North Ninth Avenue. The enclosed shopping complex has a large number of specialty shops, with Dillard’s and Parisian featured as its two anchor stores. Some of the smaller retailers include JoS. A. Bank, American Eagle Outfitters, and Coldwater Creek. Shoppers can also dine at a number of restaurants, including Moe’s Southwest Grill and the Ruby Tuesday.
When they are not shopping, residents like to visit the recreational areas near the neighborhood, among them Escambia Bay. Birders on the shore can spot such seabirds as gulls, pelicans, and frigates. In addition, residents are only a short drive away from the Colonial Archaeological Trail, where they can sometimes join in a dig and find some interesting artifacts.
The evening sunset on Escambia Bay, just east of the neighborhood, is only one of the many reasons people like to reside in the Eastgate community. It’s an economical and amiable place to live in the Pensacola metropolitan area.
