Valencia is a neighborhood that shares a name with Valencia Community College, a large popular college for many residents throughout the Orlando region and beyond. The neighborhood is located next to two of the biggest roadways in the region, the Florida 417 and Florida 407 toll roads. These roads provide access to many major destinations throughout the region.

Valencia is located only minutes away from some of the best shopping in the area. Going East on Florida 408 two miles to Alafaya Trail will bring you to Waterford Lakes Town Center. The Town Center is a popular destination not only for shopping at one of the large national brands, but also because it has the largest area movie theater. The Regal Cinemas Stadium 20 is a large 20-screen theater that features all of the latest movies. This is a popular destination for many Valencia college students staying in the area. There is also a Chuck E. Cheese in the same area that is incredibly popular with younger children and a common place for birthday parties.

The opposite direction on Florida 408 goes toward the Orlando Executive Airport. This airport is an employer of many area residents and provides mostly private commercial flights. However, the Orlando International Airport is only about six miles south of Orlando Executive Airport off of Semoran Boulevard, and it offers flights throughout the country and the world.

In the same general area, across from the Orlando Executive Airport is Lake Underhill Park. The park is situated just off of Lake Underhill, one of the most popular lakes for water recreation in the area. The park has a public boat ramp making it a popular destination for area anglers and recreational boaters. The park also features a large paved path that goes around the lake and over the Florida 408 to make a complete circle. This is popular with area walkers, runners, and cyclists.
