Boggy Creek Neighborhood

Boggy Creek, a small neighborhood in the 32824 zip code of Orlando, Florida, sits south of the Florida 528 Toll Road. It is adjacent to the Orlando International Airport, which is the thirteenth busiest airport in the United States and transports more than 30 million passengers annually. Boggy Creek combines semi-rural residential and commercial areas.

The neighborhood of Boggy Creek is southwest of the Southpoint Community Park, one of Orlando’s more than 100 city parks. The 52-acre park has multiple sports fields for baseball, soccer, and softball. There are courts for basketball and volleyball plus playgrounds, picnic areas, and hiking trails.

To the north of Boggy Creek on Florida Rock Road is the Orlando Watersports Complex. It offers lessons in wakeboarding, waterskiing, and other water sports. They have classes for all ages, including a special Bambini Club for children aged six and under. Additional family fun can be had at the Orlando Kart Center. Located south of Boggy Creek, this center for go-karting is open to the public, but also hosts go-karting championship races.

South Orange Avenue is the western border for Boggy Creek, giving area residents easy access to two main toll roads for travel to downtown Orlando, the Florida Turnpike, and attractions like Walt Disney World and Gatorland. Boggy Creek is only twenty minutes from downtown Orlando and the Central Business District, as well as Orlando Regional Medical Center.

The Boggy Creek neighborhood is close to shopping areas. Nearby plazas, with groceries and dining, include the Sand Lake Plaza and the Skyview Plaza. The closest indoor mall is the Florida Mall across from the Sand Lake Plaza, which has dozens of national retail shops, eclectic cuisine, and the area’s only M&M’s World.

There are several Orlando schools nearby and the Post Office is only five minutes from the heart of the neighborhood.
