Named after the picturesque, spring-fed Lake Frederica, which is visible from busy South Semoran Boulevard, this neighborhood is full of apartment complexes. Lake Frederica offers easy access to downtown Orlando, the Orlando International Airport, and the Lake Nona area, where the University of Central Florida Medical School and numerous medical and health companies are located.

With small boat sailing, canoeing, and fishing as local pastimes, Lake Frederica is a popular recreational haven.

Many of Lake Frederica’s residents are young professionals, students, and airline employees who like the convenience of being located only about a five minute drive from the Orlando International Airport and only three miles from the 408, the major expressway that leads westward to downtown Orlando and eastward to the University of Central Florida.

One of the city’s best parks, Barber Park at Lake George (between Conway Road and Dixie Belle on Gatlin Avenue), is less than a five minute drive from Lake Frederica. It features an outdoor roller hockey rink, three soccer fields, fishing, a playground, and other recreational activities on the lake.

Golfers have easy access to the Ventura Country Club, a golf course situated a couple of minutes from Lake Frederica and the Big Dog Driving Range on Curry Ford Road, where residents practice and take lessons.
