Bryn Mawr Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
Bryn Mawr is a mostly residential neighborhood with homes built in the 1980s to 1990s. Lake Porter is almost directly in the middle of the two biggest airports in the region. To the north about 4 miles is Orlando Executive Airport and to the south about 6 miles is the much larger Orlando International Airport. Obviously the close proximity to two major airports makes Bryn Mawr a favorite place of residence for many airport employees.
Just south of Orlando Executive Airport is Lake Underhill, a popular destination for recreation in the area. Along the south side of Lake Underhill are two parks, both of which are connected by a trail that creates a loop by crossing the bridge for the East to West Expressway. This trail is a hot spot for walkers, runners, and cyclists in the area. The location not only makes for a scenic exercise but the distance makes it more desirable than most of the other area parks. The parks located on the southeast and southwest corners of Lake Underhill are popular destinations for boaters and anglers. Public boat access and picnic areas are a huge draw to area residents looking to relax by the lake.
By taking the East to West Expressway to Interstate 4, residents of Bryn Mawr are able to quickly reach major area destinations including Disney World, Sea World, Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, and numerous other smaller venues. These areas makeup the majority of the tourism business in the area and make annual passes available to area residents at a substantially discounted rate.
To the northeast, approximately a mile from Bryn Mawr, is La Costa Wetlands. The wetlands are a popular destination for bird watching and even for picnics. The area is home to numerous native plants and animals. The many trails available make this park an excellent place to see local wildlife.
