The Sugarfoot neighborhood is bordered to the north by West University Avenue, Southwest 43rd Terrace to the west and southwest, and Southwest 37th Street to the east. The southern border of Sugarfoot mainly travels along Southwest 6th Place.

Situated on the northwest corner just outside Sugarfoot is Clear Lake, and about one mile northeast is Westside Recreation Center. North of Sugarfoot are Devil’s Millhopper Geological State Park and the San Felasco Hammock Preserve State Park. San Felasco Hammock is a popular state park for naturists. This park has over 7,000 acres with a majority designated only for hiking. These are only two of many state parks located in Gainesville.

Sugarfoot is located in the 32607 zip code area in Alachua County. Public schools in the vicinity of Sugarfoot include Littlewood Elementary, Westwood Middle, and F. W. Buchholz High. The Millhopper Alachua County library is closer than two miles to the north.

Just east of Sugarfoot are a variety of arts venues and museums located in downtown Gainesville, including the Matheson Museum. Adjacent to the museum is the Sweetwater Branch Park. Downtown also hosts various annual events including the Downtown Festival and Art Show and the Santa Fe Spring Arts Festival.
