Sugarfoot is a single-family home neighborhood located just minutes from University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. The Sugarfoot neighborhood is bordered to the north by West University Avenue, Southwest 43rd Terrace to the west and southwest, and Southwest 37th Street to the east. The southern border of Sugarfoot mainly travels along Southwest 6th Place.
Situated on the northwest corner just outside Sugarfoot is Clear Lake, and about one mile northeast is Westside Recreation Center. This large facility offers a variety of athletic fields and courts, a colorful playground for the kids, and a Skate Park. The recreation center can be used to host various events.
Sugarfoot is ideally located close to the University Golf Course. East of the golf course is the University of Florida and to the south is the College of Veterinary Medicine. Much recreational activity and nightlife entertainment surrounds the university.
North of Sugarfoot are Devil’s Millhopper Geological State Park and the San Felasco Hammock Preserve State Park. San Felasco Hammock is a popular state park for naturists. Home to varied wildlife species, including bobcats, deer and wild turkey, visitors can go hiking, off-road biking and horseback riding. This park has over 7,000 acres with a majority designated only for hiking. These are only two of many state parks located in Gainesville.

Just east of Sugarfoot are a variety of arts venues and museums located in downtown Gainesville, including the Matheson Museum. Adjacent to the museum is the Sweetwater Branch Park.
