Feather Sound is a family-oriented community on the southwest side of Old Tampa Bay, easily accessible from Saint Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport. Interstate 275 allows quick access to Tampa’s bustling shopping venues and attractions. Feather Sound is primarily residential, with fine dining and smaller shopping venues close by on Ulmerton Road.
Besides popping in to Tampa for a day at Busch Gardens, the Florida Aquarium, the Lowry Park Zoo, or any of the fine museums there, residents can enjoy the outdoors in style by driving just 30-60 minutes in any direction. Gandy Boulevard Bridge offers a fishing pier, and many other outdoor venues can be found less than an hour away.
400-acre Sawgrass Lake Park, one of the largest maple swamps in the area, lies to the southeast. The reserve features several hiking trails as well as an observatory and educational center. Those with pets may select Lake Seminole to the southwest where a large park for camping or picnicking is located as well as a jogging, hiking, biking, and rollerblading trail. Water lovers can boat or water-ski.
Feather Sound is located in zip code 33762 in Pinellas County. It includes everything within the loop created by Feather Sound Drive and extends back on the northern edge as far as the bay shoreline. The neighborhood is very community-oriented and has a high level of foot traffic.
Most of the more affluent residents in the Feather Sound area belong to the Feather Sound Country Club, which features a championship level golf course in addition to a luxury event and banquet center that is a favored location for weddings.
