Brandon, FL Apartments for Rent

Dotted with lakes and trees, the unincorporated community of Brandon, Florida is a picturesque location just nine miles west of Tampa. While Brandon is considered a bedroom community, it is home to more than 103,000 people. Brandon apartments are popular because of the fantastic location and the natural beauty. Brandon is just 30 miles from the Gulf Coast beaches, one hour southwest of Orlando, and just minutes to Tampa Bay.

Brandon dates back to 1857, when it was settled by John Brandon, his wife Martha, and their six sons. His son, James, inherited the property nine years later, and he built a home in 1876 that is now the Stowers Funeral Home, a historic landmark located on Brandon Boulevard. His father John, who moved away when widowed, remarried and came back to Brandon in 1874. His new wife, Victoria, convinced a civil engineer to lay out a town site. Soon, there was a school, a general store, and other buildings in the newly-formed railroad town.

The Florida State Fairgrounds are located four miles northeast of Brandon, attracting thousands of visitors with the Florida State Fair, the Florida Strawberry Festival, and the Hillsborough County Fair. Brandon also features cultural and arts centers, such as the historic James McCabe Theatre, the Barn Theatre at Winthrop, and Center Place Fine Arts and Civic Center.

Nearby Tampa is home to sports teams, Busch Gardens theme park, the University of South Florida, the Tampa Museum of Art, and many other popular locations. After moving to your new apartment in Brandon, be sure to check out the nearby sports teams. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers play at Raymond James Stadium, the Tampa Bay Lightning play at Amalie Arena, and the Tampa Bay Rays play at Tropicana Field.

In addition to Busch Gardens, the Tampa area offers Adventure Island, Lowry Park Zoo, the Florida Aquarium, Dinosaur World, MOSI (Museum of Science and Industry), and the Glaser Children’s Museum. Nearby Orlando is home to Walt Disney World, Epcot, Sea World, and Universal Studios.

MacDill Air Force Base is 15 miles southeast and has a strong positive impact on the area’s growing economy. It also hosts the annual “Air Fest” air show, a two-day event. Tampa International Airport is about 30 minutes from Brandon.

With such an ideal location surrounded by beautiful scenery, it is easy to see why Brandon is a fast-growing community. Find your Brandon apartment for rent today.
