New Horizons South Bay Neighborhood

What do the residents at the New Horizons South Bay neighborhood in Torrance, California, do when they get tired of golfing at the 9-hole golf course, swimming in the pools, playing tennis, or working out at the gym? They leave their 55+ condo development and venture out into Torrance and the surrounding areas to broaden their horizons.

This neighborhood is for active seniors, but nothing says that they have to forgo all the other things that Torrance has to offer. The developments is just south of West Sepulveda Boulevard, the main route to the Del Amo Fashion Center, an enormous shopping area with a mall, satellite stores, restaurants, and a theater.

New Horizons South Bay is an enclosed neighborhood with all the condos on Nadine Circle. The neighborhood is west of Maple Avenue, which is the entrance into the area. Madrona Marsh is just on the other side of West Sepulveda Boulevard. The Marsh has trails for walking and enjoying the wildlife and the native plants in one of the last remaining marshes in Southern California.

The City of Torrance has programs for active seniors that residents of New Horizons South Bay might find interesting. Among some of the activities that they offer are a lapidary workshop, the South Bay Strummers Ukulele Group, and the Sea Aire Golf Club.

Getting around the area is easy with bus transportation nearby and routes that extend into Los Angeles. There are always buses going to the beach which is a mere seven miles away. The New Horizon’s South Bay neighborhood may already have what the residents want, but everyone knows that active seniors never stay in one place.
