North City Farms Apartments for Rent

Sacramento contains many small farming towns that grew together to create the larger urban center. North City Farms is a southern Sacramento residential community of single family homes that is bounded by Deeble Street to the west and State Highway 99 to the east. This neighborhood is in the 95820 zip code. Some of the homes date back to the early 1900s, with a lot of mid century to 1970s styles.

The Ethel Phillips Elementary School is a few blocks north, and is connected to Phillips School Park. The current Mayor of Sacramento and basketball legend Kevin Johnson attended the Ethel Phillips Elementary School. For more education, Sacramento City College is to the north of North City Farms. The California State University at Sacramento is to the northeast, about a half hour to 30 minute drive away. The University of California at Davis is about 45 minutes to the northwest.

The Century Shopping center is at the southeast of the neighborhood and has a Century market. An Express Mart Supermarket is west across Deeble Boulevard, and Franklin Boulevard to the east is a commercial corridor for Sacramento.

After decades of municipally supported tree planting programs, Sacramento boasts more trees per resident than any other city in America. The extensive parkland and grounds of William Land Park Zoo, Golf Course, and Fairytale town is about three miles to the northeast of North City Farms.

Downtown and Old Town Sacramento are 20 minutes away and offer dining, culture, history and a regional shopping center. The San Francisco Bay Area is about two hours away by car, or by a more leisurely route on Amtrak Trains from Downtown Sacramento. The Sierra ski and recreational areas are east on Interstate Highway 80, and Highway 50 east leads to more Sierra recreation and to Lake Tahoe.
