Located in southwest Little Rock, Arkansas, Otter Creek Crystal is encompassed by Otter Creek Parkway to its south and Crystal Valley Road to the north – thus the community’s name. Also adding to the neighborhood’s namesake are the nearby communities of Otter Creek and Crystal Valley. This area, situated on the northwest side of Old Stage Coach Road, contains a mixture of residences and a variety of commerce.
Otter Creek Crystal is situated in the 72210 zip code of Pulaski County. Otter Creek Elementary is located within the community on Otter Creek Parkway. Other schools in the vicinity include Mabelvale Middle and J.A. Fair High Schools. The middle school is roughly two miles to the southeast of the community, and Fair High is approximately three miles to the north.
Positioned on the east side of Mabelvale Middle School is Morehart Park. Amenities provided at Morehart include walking trails, tennis and basketball courts, athletic fields, and playground equipment. The larger Hindman Park, located on Brookview Drive, is approximately four miles to the northeast of Otter Creek Crystal. Hindman provides a disc golf course, picnic areas, walking and hiking trails, equestrian trails, various athletic fields and courts, and a volleyball area. Residents can utilize the fishing areas at the pond or launch a canoe. A pavilion is available to rent for special events.
Residents living in Otter Creek Crystal are surrounded by a variety of shopping and dining venues. Large chain stores and locally-owned businesses line Stagecoach Road. Numerous churches from varying denominations also surround the community.
Downtown Little Rock, University of Arkansas-Little Rock, Arkansas Children’s Hospital, Arkansas Baptist College, and Philander Smith College are all located within 10 miles to the northeast of the neighborhood. Downtown is home to several museums, the public library, and an array of special events held throughout the year.
