Midtown Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
Midtown is the heart of Little Rock. Everything that makes this city the cultural center of Arkansas is found within its borders. A major college stadium, cutting-edge medical facilities, thriving businesses and a zoo are parts of it as much as the numerous pine groves, winding residential streets and ranch-style homes.
The community is situated between historical downtown and the new, growing suburbs of Westside. Being located between these two communities, Midtown has become a bridge between them. The past, present and the future meet on the football fields and medical centers in this community.
The city’s two main thoroughfares, Cantrell Road and Interstate 630 (also known as Wilbur D. Mills Freeway), form its northern and southern borders. The western border is dominated by Interstate 430, which connects Little Rock to the rest of Arkansas and the South.
Midtown is home to several shopping centers and businesses. However, the malls don’t define this community. Midtown’s most important contributions to Little Rock can be found along Interstate 630 between South University Avenue and South Pine Street.
The medical centers, St. Vincent Infirmary, Arkansas Department of Health, State Hospital, University of Arkansas Medical Sciences Medical Center, and John L. McClellan Veterans Center are within a mile of each other on West Markham Street.
In between these medical centers are War Memorial Park, War Memorial Stadium, and Little Rock Zoo. While War Memorial Park and Little Rock Zoo have a lot to offer, they can’t compare to the stadium for fun and excitement. War Memorial Stadium is the home of the University of Arkansas’ Razorbacks football team. On Saturdays during autumn, it becomes the center of the universe for the region’s Razorback fans.
Midtown is aptly named. It is the center of Little Rock, as well as the middle of the state of Arkansas.
