Westway Homesites is a neighborhood in Tucson, Arizona, located west of Interstate 19 and southwest of downtown Tucson. The area is located along Route 86, also known as West Tucson Ajo Highway, near Three Points. The neighborhood is bordered on the north by West Doyle Street, on the east by South Valerie Drive, on the south by West Ethel Street, and on the west by South Van Drive.
Westway Homesites is along Route 86 and due west from Ryan Field. Ryan Field was built in 1929 and was used as a training facility in World War II. Currently, this three-runway airport is used by charter planes and flight schools. There is a restaurant on the site as well. Over three hundred helicopters are also based at this airport. Airplane enthusiasts can also enjoy the Pima Air and Space Museum located near Westway Homesites.
Westway Homesites is a short drive away from the University of Arizona and to Pima Community College campuses located throughout Tucson. Private school students can attend the college prep institution, the Fenster School. The neighborhood is near many restaurants and shops located along the main streets. Downtown Tucson is a 15-minute drive away as well. Organ Pipe National Monument and the Santa Rosa Mountains and the Catalina Foothills are all close to Westway Homesites for those who want outdoor recreation. The mountains offer miles of hikes for walkers, bikers, and horse riders.
