Ward 2 is an interesting part of town. It is located deep in civilization, but from certain locations it could appear as if you were in the middle of a farm. This is because Ward 2 is located next to one of the largest growers in the area in Mesquite Valley Growers. Ward 2 is a relatively quiet area that is known for highly uniform homes on small parcels.

Ward 2 is a great neighborhood for families. Many area parks and entertainment are geared toward family fun, making family outings a little bit easier. Much of the area recreation and entertainment can be found off of a single road to the northwest of Ward 2. Tanque Verde Road is a busy road that provides access to numerous businesses throughout the area.

Just off of Tanque Verde Road is Morris K Udall Park. This large park is one of the most popular recreation destinations in the area for families. The park has five fields for baseball and softball, and three soccer fields. The well-lit fields are popular for area youth leagues and are in use on a regular basis throughout their respective seasons. The park also has a lap swimming pool, sand volleyball courts, a dog park, and several covered picnic areas. Walkers, runners, and cyclists also like the park because it is well lit and has numerous trails that go throughout the park and beyond.

Farther up Tanque Verde Road to the west is Trail Dust Town. This replica old western town is a popular Tucson destination for tourists and even for locals. Inside the small town are numerous amusements, including a saloon shooting gallery and a carousel. However, the main attraction is the Wild West Stunt Show that is filled with action and a little bit of humor. There is even a train for the younger kids.
