Vista Del Lago Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
The Vista Del Lago neighborhood of Tucson, Arizona developed during the “new Tucson” era of 1950 to 1970 in old Tucson. The “new Tucson” is considered all the development east of Swan Road during the period. Sharing the surrounding area with shopping and activities, just a breath away from the Catalina Foothills Vista Del Lago is anything but old.
The north side boundary of the Vista Del Lago neighborhood meets the back of the Swan Lake Community, on the east it is the rear of the homes on West Schaffer Drive. The major incursions of West Wetmore Road to the south, and North Flowing Well Road to the west serve as both the respective boundaries and cross street reference.
The residents are just moments from the Quail Canyon Golf Course to the north, and the Silverbell Golf Course to the west. Silverbell is also home of Regional Park and a Wetland Park. The Oracle Shopping Plaza and the Tucson Mall are to the east. Not to be forgotten is the El Rio Golf Course, to the southwest of I-10.
Vista Del Lago has mostly ranch-style homes with a few hacienda-style homes in the mix. The majority of the properties use rock or desert landscaping to save water, while a few others keep the green grass growing. The tree-lined backdrop of Swan Lake brings the Vista Del Lago trees a lush, full appearance.
The main Street of West Schaffer Drive is a slow fare that connects North Flowing Well Road, and West Wetmore Road with repetitive speed bumps as it intersects with the stunted roadway of North Lake Drive. The clean, manicured streets have no sidewalks or bike lanes, yet the residential speed limit makes it easy to share the road safely. Area bus routes are the 10 and 61.
