Villas DE LA Canada Apartments for Rent
The Villas De La Canada neighborhood is located in the Catalina foothills on Tucson’s northwest side. The community is south of West Magee Road, west of North La Canada Drive, north of West Ina Road, and east of North La Cholla Boulevard. The brick homes feature desert landscaping, which includes such plants as prickly pear and barrel cactuses, agaves, yucca plants, ocotillo, and desert willows. Iron wood and palo verde trees protect and shade the large, private brick-walled patios of many of the homes in the community. In the springtime, islands of color abound when brief showers ignite the blooms of flowers, such as lilies, delphiniums, buttercups, four o’clocks, primroses, verbenas, and poppies.
Residents can also enjoy area plants and flowers on display at Tohono Chul Park, located southeast of the community. The almost 50-acre park maintains trails to view various desert flora and features related cultural exhibits, all which serve to enforce the practice of conservation in the Southwest.
Locals in the neighborhood also enjoy being close to the Casas Adobes Shopping Plaza, which is just south of Tohono Chul Park. The upscale retail complex plays host to a number of boutique and specialty retailers that sell antiques, art, and jewelry. Residents can also browse through the numerous stores located at the Tucson Mall, which lies yet farther southeast of the neighborhood. The city’s biggest mall is home to Sears, Macy’s, JCPenney, Dillard’s, and approximately 200 smaller stores, such as American Eagle Outfitters, Sephora, and Banana Republic.
While the residential neighborhood is somewhat walkable, locals primarily use their vehicles in order to commute to work and for shopping and leisure activities.
