Tierra Serena is a community made up of mostly townhouses in the Catalina Foothills. Tierra Serena is bordered by East Sunrise Drive to the north, and North Swan Road to the west. North Cam Esplendora serves as the southern border of Tierra Serena. North Sanda Del Sol Plaza serves as the eastern border of the neighborhood. North of Tucson and in the foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains, Tierra Serena is primarily a residential community.

The Bel Air Plaza Shopping Center lies on the northern border of Tierra Serena, and it offers many major and smaller stores for residents and shoppers from the greater Tucson area. The Apple Store is also nearby, as is Plaza Palomino.

Tierra Serena is a very family-friendly community. The Tutoring Club of the Foothills is within the neighborhood itself. The Catalina Foothills Chess Academy, a great school for teaching the finer points of the game through lessons to kids of all skill levels, is just to the north of the neighborhood and easy to get to. The Music and Dance Academy, a great after-school learning mecca for young people of Tierra Serena, is within walking distance of anywhere in the neighborhood.

There are also many public and private schools that are highly regarded and within a mile of Tierra Serena. The Catalina Foothills High School is only a half-mile west of Tierra Serena. Sunrise Drive Elementary School, Valley View Preschool, and Lamb’s Gate Christian School are all within a one-mile radius of the community.

Several of the wealthier Tierra Serena residents are members of the Skyline Country Club. It is northeast of the neighborhood. It offers highly rated golf courses, up-to-date workout equipment, tennis courts, on-site restaurants, and fair membership rates and plans.
